News: Wilding Butler signs Training Partnership with CIOB

Wilding Butler, are one of only nine contractors in the whole of the South East of England to have entered into a Training Partnership Agreement with the Chartered Institute of Building. The Training Partnership Scheme is a national initiative aiming to have a fully trained workforce operating on construction sites throughout the country.

Phil Wilding, receiving a signed copy of the formal agreement from Geoffrey Wright of the Institute stated, “We are already recognised as an Investor in People, but this reaffirms our commitment to our employees. We would like to encourage all our staff, who are eligible, to become Members of the Chartered Institute of Building and to demonstrate our commitment still further we have agreed to pay the annual membership fees of those staff who wish to become Members.”

Several employees have already taken advantage of Wilding Butler’s proposal and agreed to be assessed to determine what they need to do to achieve Membership. Bruce Sneddon, who has been working with Wilding Butler for 5 years as a site manager, said “Being a member of the Chartered Institute of Building is about belonging to one of the most prestigious and professional organisations in the country. I think it is a qualification that anyone working in the Construction Industry should strive towards because it shows a high level of knowledge and competence.”

Phil Wilding commented “I think other construction companies should consider a similar commitment as this will only raise the profile of construction positively on a national basis”
